In office spaces, working group desks play a crucial role, often occupying a significant amount of furniture. These desks are particularly prevalent in open offices and shared workspaces. The Ballerina table, with its unique design, aims to elevate the quality of these spaces and enhance the experience of the users.
The Ballerina table stands out due to its dual module structure. Each module consists of two bases, providing access to the ground power grid, and a main beam that connects the modules and serves as the pathway for the power grid. Additionally, two bent metal sheets and a wooden or glass plate form the work surfaces. The modular design allows for easy assembly and disassembly, while the connection to the electrical network in the building ensures seamless integration.
Measuring 1730mm x 1400mm x 740mm, the Ballerina table combines beauty and functionality. It adheres to ergonomic standards, offering a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing workspace for both individuals and groups. The table's design also facilitates installation, coordination with the environment and the user, connection to electrical and network installations, movement, and versatility in layout.
The project, which took place in Tehran, Iran, from February to April 2022, involved extensive research to create a workstation that not only meets ergonomic requirements but also enhances the overall atmosphere of the office space. The Ballerina table's presence creates enthusiasm and fosters communication, thanks to its visually striking form and high visual ability.
Overcoming various creative, technical, and research challenges, the Ballerina table goes beyond mere functionality. Its impact extends to the human beings using it and the space it occupies, elevating the overall quality of the environment. By incorporating the Ballerina table into office spaces, designers can create a harmonious and inspiring atmosphere.
The Ballerina table has been recognized for its outstanding design and creativity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Office Furniture Design category in 2023. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate ingenuity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life through art, science, design, and technology.
